Gardening: Samuels Post

The Garden!  We started our garden May.  It was pretty fun and interesting.  One day you want a cucumber to get ripe and the next day you wake up to go out to the garden.  You see that your cucumbers are big and juicy and ripe.  Then you can carry them home and eat them.

We have to pull lots of weeds.  It is pretty hard.  We have to pull lots of weeds because we can
not see the plants and we can step on them by accident.  They will not get as much water as they need to because the weeds are sucking it up.

We picked lots of beets.  I think they taste like dirt.

Green beans are green, ripe and juicy.  Yum, Yum, Yum.  We canned them.  We have more to pick.  The type of bean we planted are called Strike.

Our bean patch is big.  We still have to can more to can. Eli and I helped cut beans into about one and a half inches.

These tomatoes are almost ready.  They can be used for fried green tomatoes. They taste great but sorta hard.  We have a lot of tomatoes.  We have at least 30 plants. We will get a lot from them.

Yellow squash is good.  I am picking the squash.  It is ripe

This is the biggest cucumber.  We got about 15 cucumbers today.

The corn is taller than me.  I am 4 feet tall.

This is lettuce seed flowers blooming.

Our cucumbers
We picked a lot of vegetables today.  We picked five yellow squash, twelve cucumbers, and two tomatoes.  Yum!

 Gardening is fun and exciting.
