The New May Rabbits

I woke up to a surprise.  Seven kits!

Meadow has mothered 15 kits so far.

A wee bee!
My little Meadow had her babies this morning! She had seven this time. Noah's rabbit had eight kits yesterday. They are so cute and pink. I have a little runt and Noah has a runt.

sooner or later

We have two does that are about to have their babies, Meadow and Dixie. They are due any day now! Last year I got eight kits for showing at the fair as market rabbits. This year I am hoping for the same amount. Any way, they are fat and lazy. They are eatting ALOT and making their nest boxes cozy. We made two boxes this year! They are wooden and just the right size. I now have three nesting boxes. We got a medal box for 10.00$ at TSC! That is a better price then it was. The boxes have welded wire on the bottom. I cant wait for the kits to be born!

show

We went to a rabbit show last week. I put Meadow in the show. She got third place on being best rabbit! My friend got second! I got first place on rabbit knowledge. Or you could call it rabbit showmanship. But it was really fun, and I enjoyed it. When I was at the show I saw Mini Lop rabbits, New Zealands, Holland lops and more! After the show we went home and bred two young does for fair this year. Coming soon baby bunnies!

Good Bye Pig And Pig

Well, we got rid of the pigs. We sent Pig and Pig to the butcher place where they will be butchered. I didn't mind at all that they were going to be made into food. Infact, I was glad there were no more pigs because when they left to be butchered, all the scrap food went to the chickens. I was feeling bad for the chickens because when ever you passed the coop with a bowl of food they would go crazy for it.

So, when we were going to put them on the truck, the male pig went in without a word. But the
female  pig was bad to the end. She ran and  squealed and jumped.  It took a long time to put her on the truck, but we did.

I think it will take a week before the butcher calls with our meat.

I got four more chickens. They are Americaunas.

Wonderful Things In January

I was taking pictures of Abbie.  I got some good ones.  She's always squirming and wagging her little stump tail.  She loves the snow that we got this weekend.

My sweet little kittie.  She follows me around everywhere.

Blaster's nose is always getting in the camera.  He's funny.
Jack-in-the-Box used to be my turtle.  He' so neat.  We gave him to my aunt about 6 years ago.  I think he's about 17 years old.  He free-ranges at my aunts.  She feeds him pizza and worms.  He takes baths in her bathtub.  He's hibernating in a clothes pile.
That's a big nose!

I can never get a good picture of the pigs.
They are so friendly.  But, they like to eat me.
Eli hides his face from the camera.
Annie...getting out of bed....at lunchtime.  She likes to sleep in.

It's fun to live on a little farm.
